| Myelosuppression, Cardiac toxicity (esp. in infants & children), CHF, Cardiomyopathy, encountered with cumulative doses exceeding 550mg/m2 (adults) & with cumulative doses of approximately 400mg/m2 in patients who have received radiation therapy(adults), Evaluate Renal & Hepatic function (impairment can enhance toxicity), Secondary Leukaemias, Hyperuricemia secondary to rapid lysis of leukaemic cells, Daunorubicin will cause a red discoloration of the urine, Extravasation of Daunorubicin leads to severe necrosis of local tissue, damaging surrounding muscles, tendons & nerves. |
